Our story
How we began, and what we are for.
Marceau Partners began over dinner in Bordeaux, during the ATP tournament at the Villa Primrose. A strategy consultant, a chess player, a tennis player and an artist, each at the top of their field, started talking about one question: what does performance really mean?
Eight hours later they shared a conviction. The disciplines behind individual excellence (doubt, timing, a coherent game plan, bringing people along, relentless execution) could transform the corporate world. No consulting firm offered that, so they built one.
That conversation became The Shift, the five-step method behind everything we do. How it works in practice is on Our Vision.
The Shift is not for everyone. It is for firms ready to do what they need to do, not only what they have to.
The philosophy
Most firms spend their change budget on what regulators impose. We help them invest in what their business actually needs.
By our estimate, around three quarters of change in financial services is driven by regulation, and only a quarter by choice. The reason isn’t a lack of ambition: change is hard, costly and often fails, and a deadline is the one force strong enough to push a firm through. Marceau Partners gives firms a method, the people to run it and tools that stay after we leave, so a chosen change moves with the same energy and discipline as an imposed one.

Our focus
Financial services, capital markets. And sport.
The third one surprises people. It shouldn't: Marceau Partners was born at a tennis tournament. Both worlds run on preparation, timing and judgement under pressure, and both are being rebuilt around data faster than their operating models can absorb.
Why us
Six reasons firms trust us with the change they need to make.
Our focus
Financial services, capital markets and the sport industry: sectors where regulation, technology and competition change the rules faster than most operating models can adapt.
Our people
A chess grandmaster, a former ATP professional, an artist, a former BCG partner, an organisational psychologist, coaches, industry and AI experts, and young consultants. They don’t give the same answer, and that is the point: the insight lives in the differences.
Our tools
Alongside spreadsheets and slides, we build working applications and prototypes, in days and weeks rather than months, using AI and our own engineering. They make every assumption visible, and they become management tools you keep using after we leave.
Our method
The Shift: five integrated steps (Really?, And?, Now?, Unlock and Perform) that take an idea from first doubt to delivered value. Skip one, and change stalls. Together, they make chosen change as reliable as mandatory change.
Our view, your decision
We show you the question from several angles, with every assumption exposed, and we tell you clearly what we would do. Then the final call stays where it belongs: with you.
Our commitment
We don’t help once and disappear. We stay through delivery, build the habits that sustain performance, and leave behind tools your teams can run without us.
